Hello everyone. My name is Cora Blu and I write Contemporary Interracial Romance as well as a Parafantasy Romance Series. Coming from a large family, four brothers, two sister, I never lack for inspiration for characters.

I was raised believing family is the backbone of everything. So all my stories will have a family at the core. And growing up my best friends were in their sixties.

I’ve been asked why I write interracial. My mother would always say she didn’t care if he was purple with white spots, if when you closed the door and you’re still happy that’s what matters.

Every story I write creates itself after I’ve met, bumped into or spoke to someone in line somewhere. One scene in every book is true. In my fantasy novella “Max” the scene with the sterling silver rose in the office is true and inspired the story.

My underwater series is inspired from my Science teacher over twenty years ago, the koi in my backyard pond, Jacque Cousteau and Twenty thousand leagues under the Sea. On my Pinterest page you can see pictures of my koi and my garden.

I am a mother of three girls and married to my pre-K sweetheart. We met when his father helped my father move. He told my mother to save the one with the dirty knees for him. (I was in the sandbox get your mind out the gutter) He is my best friend and it makes writing loving couples easy.

Beautiful Trouble Publishing Slumber Party is happy to announce that the guest for 01 October 2012 is the writing team known as Lynn Richards, who are best friends who decided they wanted to write for living, so they started one word at a time.

Best friends since high school, we roomed together in college, where we passed time “writing” each other stories. Of course back then we didn't even once think we should be putting them on paper (foolish us!) Fast forward about ten years and one two-year old. I convince my other writing half that not only do we need to write, but we need to send it to big publisher. We did…and received nice rejections… wrote another, got it all the way to the senior editor and WHAM—personnel change, no sale, lost interest in writing.

Fast forward another, umm, umm, years and once again we convince each other we can't stop.

And then came the advent of kindle circa February 2012, and we say what the heck and published our first book Leader of the Pack and were so excited when it sold 10!!! That got us to thinking that this writing gig isn't a bad thing. Since the need to write is a living, breathing thing, we wrote Beauty and the Wolf, which went all the way to 42 on the top 100 erotica on Kindle. Excited, we push each other and write six more novellas in five months and here we are today trying to find the time to write in between day jobs and families.

We want to write forever!!!!

Right now, we don't have a website. I thought we had a blog, but apparently I was wrong…or I just can't find it again!!!

Technology is not our friend, unless our practice, practice, practice.

Beautiful Trouble Publishing Slumber Party is happy to announce that the guest for 03 September 2012 is Shelli Quinn.

She is a wife, mother of three and Breast Cancer survivor.

She has a degree in business management and was a retail manager for more than thirteen years, before resigning to spend more time with her family. Shortly after resigning she gave birth to her third child. A couple of years later her world was turned sideways when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

With her husband and children at her side she was able to get through the three painful surgeries, several grueling months of chemo and radiation treatments as well as the turmoil of emotions. Thankfully she found tranquility in her writing and after being blessed with a second chance at life as well as a new found sense of determination, and with the encouragement of her family she began to live her dream.

Now as she lives her childhood dream of becoming a writer her passion is to consistently develop new characters and storylines that her readers can enjoy. She is focused on writing about strong, determined and passionate women of color. She plans to continue her career as a writer for as long as her creative mind allows her too.

In her spare time she enjoys cooking, spending time with her family and reading books by some of the wonderful writers that inspire her. She also loves to read the many emails she receives from her readers.

Zetta Brown holds a B.A. in English/Creative Writing from Southern Methodist University and is the author of several short stories. In 1998 she was the regional first-place winner for The National Society of Arts & Letters (NSAL) Award for Short Fiction. Her work has been published in literary journals produced by Tarrant County College in Hurst, Texas, Mary Hardin-Baylor University in Belton, Texas, and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. In 1999 and 2000, her stories were adapted for performance at the Craft of Writing conference in Denton, Texas. She has had the honor of obtaining a residency at The Writers’ Colony in Dairy Hollow in 2002 as well as attending the Hurston-Wright Foundation’s Writers Week in 1998. A native Texan, she now lives in Scotland with her husband, author and publisher, Jim Brown (who rocks a kilt like nobody’s business!).

Shyla Colt: the Afterparty

The amazing Shyla Colt graced the airwaves on Beautiful Trouble Publishing’s Slumber Party on Monday and offered up insight on her method to her madness (writing that is).

First, we all know if there are character’s that stick out in the book that aren’t the hero or heroine, Jayha will request their story ASAP. In “Lessons from the Professor” there are several that Jayha ‘needs’ their story written. According to Jayha, Lee was like ‘damn.’ Enough said, right?

There is something to be said about someone that can be so busy and yet still take the time to write an engaging tale about flawed characters. Shyla specializes in the paranormal but she does write other genres.

Shyla also lets us know that she is a character writer, which would explain why every time you pick up one of her books, you become a part of the character’s lives because you feel like you know them. However, that is why she can’t pick her favorite book but she can pick her favorite hero. You want to know who it is…listen to the webcast.

“Recovery” was also in the mix as Shyla delves into the demons of addictions and the hope of recovery.

There was some talk about movies, and I personally can’t type what was said about clichés in movies or how military women/wives are stereotyped, because you just have to hear it to understand the conviction they have for her pet peeves.

She has a new book coming out called “What the Heart Knows.” It is a paranormal, and she is real curious about the reader thinks on this one, so once you get the book, read it, drop her a line and let her know what you think.

BTP is happy to announce that the guest for July 12, 2012 is Delilah Hunt. Delilah Hunt has been addicted to romance, ever since the tender age of thirteen, when she picked up her first bodice ripper romance novel and tucked it away beneath her pillow. Instead of living out her fantasies of being a member of The Ton in Victorian England, she is a modern day woman living in Germany with her husband and two little boys. Although her first love of romance began with the historicals, she has developed an even greater taste for reading and writing contemporary love stories featuring heroes and heroines she hopes her readers can relate to, whether they are involved in IR relationships or not. When not writing Delilah loves to read (what else) exercise and bake with chocolate. And in between everything else, she is always plotting and imagining her next books.

Lena Matthews: Totally Epic!

On 09 July, 2012, author Lena Matthews was a guest on the BTP Slumber Party. Jeanie and Jayha have publically disavowed any knowledge of any shenanigans (of which there were too many to count) that might have gone on, because Jayha was busy shining her halo and The Jeanie was busy doing something with a machete that probably involved slicing bacon. 

Ergo, we can’t personally tell you what happened, but the seven hundred peeps who listened in could…if we hadn’t made them sign the disclaimer. Wink. You should go to the archives and listen to it as it was absolutely epic.  NB: Listening to the episode while at work might not be such a good idea unless you want to explain samurai sword wielding, cowboy ninja chefs amongst other things.
